Okay I got an AMD in my laptop which supports some power saving CPU Throttling (AMD's signature one, PowerNow or something I dunno...) Anyway, when I'm at school taking notes I have no need for 1.8ghz. The machine can throttle down to < 800mhz. I want it to always be <800 while I'm just at school, save some battery life.

As smart as the CPU Throttling is it kicks up to 1.8ghz to often and seemingly for no reason. Especially when there is no AC in site and all I'm doing is word processing, 1.8ghz is just huge power waster.

Any tips on some way to control this throttling?

Thanks,
