When I try to run IIS on my Win2000 Professional SP4 terminal at the office, the request to start the service always times out with the following error, reported by the MMC Snap-In console/Internet Services Manager:

The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.

I checked the event log and it has an error reported in the System logs that says,


"The World Wide Web Publishing Service service terminated with the following error:
The parameter is incorrect."

The source of the error is "Service Control Manager" and the Event ID is 7023. There is no data in the data section.

How can I get my IIS up and running? I am running IIS v5.5.
