I am posting this in a new thread because Knight's original is too big!
Here's a history lesson for those of you who think Apple created the first GUI:
XEROX corporation, as I stated before, created the first **practical** GUI in 1970 with the XEROX ALTO. However, even Xerox can't take credit for the GUI... it was originally someone else's idea, but Xerox simply made it usable in every-day life.
