Hello hello,

After all the years I've had an IRC program in the works, I've finally decided the newest one will be more of a group project. I've used my own client for year and a half already, but a week ago I decided to create a whole new core, much more efficient and manageable. So I now have the core running, only lacking features to be added.

To save reading, here is the link to a site: http://goldpanda.merri.net/ - I'll be adding information about the project as I go on.

The things you need to know, as a coder:
- Open source: anyone can join!
- Unicode support: any control displaying text must be Unicode compatible (exceptions might be done with controls which can be ANSI-only, such as nickname and e-mail boxes etc.)
- Language: Visual Basic 6
- Code release: as I'm doing the initial version, I'm releasing the source when: a) I have made the basics somewhat complete OR b) I'm starting to lose interest and I have to find a way to push more speed to the development to keep the project alive
- More info: as said already, I'm adding more information on how one can help and what is required when I have a better picture on what is needed

One might think this is just another IRC client in the works out there, but I hope you can see how serious I really am about this. The current code might be only six days old, but I've had something in the works for four years or so, when I made my first lil' IRC client. This project is inspired by the success of Firefox and Thunderbird, which both are very good program.

Any thought, comments, help and so on are highly appreciated
