I am working on an assignment and I have been asked the 16-bit two's complement binary representation of 1987

and then the same 2's complement representation of -1987

My question is ... should I show

0000 0111 1100 0011 = 1987
1111 1000 0011 1100 = One’s Complement

1111 1000 0011 11 00 = One’s Complement
0000 0000 0000 00 01 = + 1

1111 1000 0011 11 01 = Two’s Complement of 1987 = (-1987) ????

Is that correct that the 16-bit 2's complement of 1987 is -1987???????

Am I missing somehthing???
