I have a problem i would like to share, as it is driving me round the bend.

I have an NTL free connection, that has been running perfectly well for the
last 2 months, under Windows 2000. My modem is a Diamond usb supramax 56k.

I have been using a home produced internet browser.
Now for some strange reason, my computer/modem will not dial out, i do not even get a dialling tone. Now if I change my DUN'y to an alternative isp
like Yahoo. I can dial up and connect, no problem.

So i say to my self, copy the Yahoo DUN'y, modify the telephone number to the NTL number, and modify the password. That should be that.

But for some reason W2K or Internet Explorer 5 refuses to connect me to the NTL number.

I have tried putting any phone number in, and it dials up. For some reason it does not like the NTL number. I have even tried the ntl number a just chage the last digit, as it still dials up.

The only thing I can think of, the computer/explorer or my vb6 programming has corrupted a registry entry, or is there some system file that remembers the phone number.

Any advice please as I am pulling my hair out.
