Heloo,
I hope this is the right place.

Anyone familiar with this scenario;

Customer/Client approaches software developer with "laymans blueprint" of repetitious processes which required a program to run.

The calculations of those processes have been "proved" and shown to prospective developers using an outdated proto-type program written in some obsolete language as a demo.

A deal was struck, and the layman waited 3 months for completion of the program. A deposit was paid and an agreement settled.

The program was developed in such a way, to suit many requests of similar type programs from clients in the same industry.

The concept was, to develop a base program that ran scripts to do whatever one wants, IF they knew how to write the "learnable" script code.That code is apparantly BASIC !

Client/s knows ZILCH on program code, but the client's basic functions were written to get them started.

As time went on, there became no support to teach clients the BASIC language required to utilise the base programs live data-feed-in

So I have this program and it runs scripts,but each time I require script changes, there is no support. The developer has gone to another carreer path, but is still supportive, when time permits privately.

The wait sometimes can be upto 3 months or more to have a glitch fixed.
I have searched and searched for BASIC program code tutorials, but even then this may not help much because some uniqueness was added to the overall program and compiler for the scripting.

I have no idea where to look next, the blueprint is suppose to earn income, it does earn income, in theory.

Since then, time went on and I still have my program and stagnated to move on in life because my 10 years of research seems a waste.

I can view the script, I "see" what it does, but whenever I try to enhance or change some thing, it does not compile because I am simply not doing it right and lack some reference information to utilize other objects from the main program's data feed.

Where do I start to learn this BASIC lingo and get to understand how it is suppose to be written correctly so it compiles and does what it is suppose to do ?
