We have this binder of about 2000 pages of vehicle makes, models, vin numbers and insurance rating symbols, and we need to scan them in so I can import them into a database. The pages are clear and text only, so I am looking for some high quality OCR software that will make this as painless as possible. Right now at the office I have a canon scanner which is kind of old (4 years or so) and the software is pretty old too (its OmniPage Pro 9 - they currently have version 14 out)

anyways I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on hardware/software that you think would be really good for OCR
