Question: My friend's CD drive will change all his Long Windows Filenames to the old 3.11 8 char filenames.

Example:

Escaflowne Eps 8

Turns Into:

Escafl~3

Or Something like that.

Therefore making it impossible to watch the eps without opening the file, seeing if it is the one he wants to watch, closes it looks at another, Tedious process

Is it possible for me to change the shortened filename back to the long filename?

I know there is an example on this website but i do not fully understand it, and it takes the whole path, not just the filename. Since i don't fully understand it, I cannot tweak it to my liking. Any Hints?
