I'm embarking on a one-man project and am looking to cut down my development time. I'm looking at a 3-5 month timeframe for overall development here and out of the 7 people on my team I'm the only one with programming experience.

I am going to have, in SQL Server, databases of information. All I want to do is allow the user to view a variety of different types of dynamic reports on that information in some graphical format. It doesn't have to be Excel, but I may like to be able to export to Excel, time permitting.

Are there certain kinds of proprietary controls that might suit my needs, or is Excel my best bet? I'd like them to be fairly interactive and usable such that, for example, if a user wants to see how last year's fund performance compares to this year's, they could click a box and add that line or bar to the graph...something along those lines.

I know this is somewhat vague but if it sounds like something you've experience with, let me know how I can accomplish this. Most importantly, is it feasible?

Thanks a lot,
Mike
