Activex loading new program?
I want a person to visit my web site and click a button and have a program downloaded to their computer and run. Can this be done with an activex? In otherwords, have an activex on a web site and when they say yes to run the activex, it is loaded on the machine and run. Then what the activex will do is look for the program on the computer by the registery and if there, run it. Otherwise it will download it and run it.
When I use gotomypc.com and log in the web site, it loads a new app window that is not in the browser - it is a program of its own. And I think it is in Java. Anyone know? But the app is written in C++. Can I do the same with mine as long as the user agrees to let the activex run on their machine? I don't want the user to click a download button and install something - I want it to be more automated.
Thoughts?
Thanks!
