(I am sorry if it is not the first time you see this msg. I am not familiar with how your forums work so I posted this msg on the wrong forums first. Just in case you think I am spamming or something.)
Hello.
I am currently working on a roleplay mud code, called BeMUD.
(For anyone who doesn't what MUD is, it is a text based multiplayer internet game, go to http://www.mudconnect.com for MUCH more info about MUD termin)
The code is done (for now, hopefully always) in Visual Basic 6 and it is in quite advanced stages (Comparing to other Visual Basic mud codes). I have already the following things:
* FAST and CLEAN code (Was posted on PSC in VERY basic stages and recieved 5 excellents and positive replies in a few days).
* Basic characters creation and login.
* Rooms and full movement (support in areas).
* Characters communication - "SAY" command.
* Items and alias of items.
* Character items manipulation (GET, HOLD, WEAR, GIVE, DROP).
* Basic stats (HP and BLEEDING)
* HIT command (Fighting)
* Emotes and ready emotes
* Damn it, can't write it all =)
The mud itself is planned to be very unique, roleplay oriented and of course fun to play. I believe that mud that has roleplaying with with a code that is not good for roleplaying has bright future, but mud rules and mud code is not all, I believe that a code that is perfect for roleplaying but is simply no fun has the same dull future as well.
My plans is to build a mud that causes the players to roleplay, I don't want to enforce people to roleplay, I want them to be able to roleplay with an inforcement. Yet, I plan the mud to be fun as well (So many ideas, so little time).
The project is very exciting to do and yet it is much work (coding) for one person. I am looking for people who wish to join me in creating the best mud code ever created. I have many ideas and I hope I am good coder (Again, according to the response on PSC).
So to everyone who's willing to join in:
CODERS
* You should have Visual Basic 5 and above, I doubt that Visual Basic 4 will work with the code.
* You should have programming skills, it doesn't matter if you never worked with Winsock, but skills are important.
* Be willing - I always find programming a fun thing to do, I am having fun when I program and I tend to believe other people enjoy programming as well. That's why I work on BeMUD daily a few hours per day (For two monthes now). If you're ready to work on BeMUD on regular basis for some time (and not only for one week) then BeMUD is waiting to you.
BUILDERS
* Builders are essential for any mud, since English is not my native language I will avoid building, for this reason BeMUD need builders who're wishing to help.
* Help in building is needed in areas/items/emotes.
* Online creation for all these will be built soon.
If you think you want to Code or Build, want to help, just curious about the mud, have any question, have any ideas or ANYTHING at all contact me:
