As much as I enjoy VB.Net, I think its security really stinks. I don't like the fact that I can release something public only for someone to run over to Remotesoft and have my work decompiled in 100% readable code in a matter of seconds. I also feel that any company who publicly displays how easy it is to decompile .Net code only to try and sell you a protection tool for $799.00 bucks is nothing but a bunch of d*mn crooks who will never get a red cent from my pocket. I remember seeing this when java was first released, people trying to cash in big on protection tools only to find now that there are 100's of free protection/obfuscation tools available now for the Java platform. Anyways now that I vented, does anyone know of any good free tools to secure my executable from prying eyes? Hell it doesn't even have to be free, I don't mind paying someone for their work if it's a fair reasonable price but as a hobbyist programmer, a 800.00 investment for something that will be free in no time is a joke.. Anyways any feedback would be appretiated...
