I am trying to install a shared assembly. I've done all the usual (give it a strong name, intall using the GACUTIL etc.) thing is when I attempt to reference this assembly in a client prog. I can't see my Shared Assmebly listed?!!

It appears to be in the Global Assembly, i can browse it, examine properties etc. but i can't 'see' it from other progs...why?

Thing is I CAN see it if I copy the DLL to the .NET framework\V.1 * directory. Whats going on here??

All the help I can find just re-iterates what I already know i.e. how to install, not troubleshoot so ANY advice would be a great help. Cheers
