Ok, any tips on designing decent Navigation Buttons? (Graphics)

Also, would I be pusing my luck if I color most of my site green? (Dark green background for footer and nav buttons, and lightish green for main text). Its for my programs, and I'm not sure if its going to suite... the example (Pc User - September) is for a tree company.. soo...
