Had a Quantum 10 gig that kept making click-click-click noises and I finally gave up and took it out of the machine it was in.

For some reason a few days later all of a sudden it works. I shook it around a little and now (figuring it can't get any worse, and I didnt' have any data on there) and presto, it works.

Strange.
