I am using VB.Net to build a web service and I want to use a number of Axtive X components like Timer and MScomm.

Why are certain ActiveX components restricted (e.g. Mscomm) in the Designer window while others are not (e.g. Timer) ?

Is this this a question of configuring VB.Net ?
