would like to include the MSCOMM control in a VB.net webservice to
communicate (via RS232) with an external Data acquisition card.

Although I included MSCOMM in the toolbox and it appears in the toolbox, the
MSCOMM control does not seem to be available in the design window. It
appears only as a ghost image which suggests to me that VB.net webservice
application designer will not allow this control to be used.
