Hi all

I have just undertaken a new project at work (I'm not actually a software engineer) and I have decided to write it in VB. I have programming in VB 3,5 & 6 for about 4 years on and off and know it pretty well.

When we went to order a licence for my PC at work - shock horror VB6 is now "obsolete" but we can offer you VB.net.

Frankly I have heard stories and it seems to me that you have to practically re-learn VB.net is this true?

Has anybody had experience of how long it takes a VB6 programmer to learn VB.net

My project (as always) has a very tight schedule and the last thing I need to do is re-learn the VB

Is our software supplier just talking rubbish?

Any comments appreciated
