make an EXACT copy of a hard drive
Id like to put everything I have on my WD30gig7200rpm onto a Maxtor60gig7200rpm.
How?

When you say 'exact copy', do you mean including the way it's partitioned? Do you want to copy a 30 gig partition over, leaving another 30 gig of space to partition however you want? If so, I would go with Norton Ghost, or a similar app (I think PowerQuest make one that (sometimes?) comes with Partition Magic.
If you just want to copy the files, I'd just put both disks in the same machine, copy the files over, then take the disk out again.

If he has two 30Gig Hds how much more data do you think he can fit on the second? 5Gigs maybe 10Gigs? How efficient are the compression algorithms for applications like nortons Ghost?

Anyways, does anyone know when and how I install those download.com hard drive copiers? Are they made in assembly so you just put it on the hard drive and boot to it? Or do you install it in windows and copy?
