    Transporting data through IEEE

I am to write a program that will move data from an old HP Basic PC to an IBM PC. Since the HP PC's do not have a NIC card, I have to use the IEEE 488 bus. Has anyone ever heard of doing this or attempted it?

Any ideas/suggestions would be very helpful!

    Thanks for the help,
    R
10 different ways to skin a cat and amazingly enough each and every one has the same result, the cat gets skinned! The same can be applied to code, so be nice and accept each others "preferences".

If you are just trying to retreive old data files from the HP BASIC worstation, HP has a utility program called LIF-Utils that will allow a PC to ready an HP formatted Floppy and convert the data to DOS format. So you could just put the data files on floppy(s), and use the utillity to convert the files. However, this utility would be a pain if you are trying to port large quantities of data.

This utility program used to be available free from HP's web site. (May be @ www.agilent.com now)

Thanks, I am familiar with that utility, but as you said, it is a major pain to use when I have several dozen files to import.
