    Question

I work in a company with about 350 people in IT,and about 3,000 PCs. We currently use VB 6.0, and have not taken any of the service releases for it. I would like to get us up to date by taking SP4. My fear is that with such a large environment, if we force this upgrade on everyone's PC, it will break some of the existing applications. Is anyone aware of any problems created when installing service packs 1 - 4? Is there any documentation on the Web that addresses this? Any information I can get would be greatly appreciated.

    Works for me...

I've written programs and upgraded to SP3 and more recently to SP4 without any problems at all.

Best thing to do is install SP4 on ONE PC and check anything you need to check. If it goes wrong (which I doubt it would), then at least you haven't wasted weeks in getting everyone upgraded.

    Visual Basic 6 Enterprise Edition + SP4
