    Unhappy DVD-ROM Problems...

Ever since I got my new motherboard replaced, whenever I so much as put any cd (whether blank, cd-rw, cd-r, cd-rom, dvd, etc...) I get a blue screen (...of death of course) and I cannot get anything to work in this drive. For the record it is a Pioneer DVD-ROM DVD-115. If I go into dos, I can get the drive to read things fine and everything, its just that in windows my comp always gets bluescreened when I so much as put a cd in. Any ideas?

    HELLLLLLLP!

    Thanks,

    Rob

can be a bunch of things that are wrong here. Usally, a blue screen is an hardware error like Memory Adress corrupted or conflicted, bad ACPI Share (IRQ Conflict) or ur controller card isnt great. Tell me ur IDE config.

Try to put ur DVD rom on the same bus as ur HDD.

Ok...I know very little about hardware, or this sytem im running on (not my main), so try to bear with me.

First off, let me say that it is a HP Pavilion 8770C with few modifications, the first of being the video card (upgraded to a Hercules 3D Prophet 2 GTS 64 MB) and the motherboard which is now an Asus K7M Athlon motherboard. The comp is running on an 850 Mhz Athlon with 128 MB SDRAM. As I said before, the problem is with a Pioneer DVD-ROM DVD-115. Personally, I know nothing about the IDE setup, so please tell me what you need to know and where I can find it. All I know is that I have a nice big IDE cable going from the burner (HP CD-Writer Plus - Although for some reason the computer reads it as a Mitsumi CR-4804TE - But it still works) as the primary down to the DVD which is on the slave slot and then down to the motherboard. As you can see, I know alot! Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Rob

It says something along the lines of:

"An exception OE occurred at 0028.05D96620 in VxD. This was called from 0028.05D96620 in VxD scsi1hlp (03) + 0000058. It may be possible to continue normally...blah..blah...blah"

    Any ideas?
