    what could it be

My computer is still not working 100% correct.

for some reason it will freeze the start bar and open windows.
the only way to un-freeze it is to do the ctrl+atl+del.
Then it works good for about 10 or so mins.

I thought it was XP but yesterday I did ANOTHER reformat and installed 2K Pro and still the same crap.

Could it be the chip or ram?

    I have no idea

Do you have a shortcut to a UNC path in there? As windows picks up the icons and UNCs can slow it down, Especially if the link is a broken UNC path.

    Turn off power

    Take off lid

Put some slight pressure on the vid card and memory sticks

Sometimes they pop out of place slighty, due to temp inside PC..

Also check the Device Manager for conflicts or unresolved hardware issues.....

    LOL

Don't even think about reseting the thing, that way be dragons.

You don't need to remove the cards, simple apply some even downward pressure on them, being carefule to keep something against the back of the motherboard, to avoid cracking it..(have seen this happen). If you get some slight, and l mean slight, no don't use a hammer here, movement then that may fix your problem.

This is by ways of one possibility, it may not be your problem...

Hmmm....if we are in doubt over ram, normally just replaced the sticks.

Am presuming all sticks are the same in your rig, not a good idea to mix em...

Here's what you do. Go to best buy, get a stick of DDR. test it out.

When you're done return it...say something lame like, "I got one of those pentium 4 notebooks and the little thingy didn't fit in the slot"

Oh well...at least I didn't wait a month for Visiontek to send me a replacement.
