How to make an AMD XP work as an MP :)
Yes folks, it is now possible to make AMD XP's and also any AMD Durons based on the Morgan core run in multi-processor systems
Check out the below link for details...

eMachine? Now...I congratulate people who build, I help people who buy Falcons or Microns, I make jokes about people who buy Dells, but I shun people who buy eMachines

About 95% of the problems in eMachines come from the power supply. They use Intel mobos (you can't get any more stable). But their power supplies are the worst. A new Micro ATX (i think) PSU should fix his problems...

when people ask me "what computer should i buy" my response is always: "Don't get one from any major manufacturer" (ie compaq, HP (same comany? I havn't been keeping up to date on that deal),anything from any chainstores like future shop, the best way to get a PC are either custom build or home built. When i got mine i found custom built and home built cost exactly the same (within a few tens of dollars) so i got these people in winnipeg to build it, they lowered the price $100, threw in free shipping, and free CD's. Also i got a 1 year warrenty which i can have honoured in town . Custom built worked out better for me.

That's good that you can get a local shop to do it. I would recommend them to my friends but there are none.
I usually recommend Falcon Northwest to anyone NOT building. They are a bit cheaper than Dell, but they sell AMD processor based computers and they are built for gaming. And it isn't bogged down with tons of OEM crap either.

I really don't like how the employees ambush me, and say "Need any help", "Find whatyour lookin for?", "May I help". *String of swear words I wrote, but then decided it was a bad idea*
I was trying to find a game once, and I couldnt find it , so I ask if they had it, in case they had one not shelved yet. And what did the moron do, looked in the selves where I had just spent about 15 minutes looking. Then I have to wait another 10 minutes until this brain child tells me their out of stock. A simliar thing happend happend when I was getting a DVD.
PS: They spam AOL disks so I took 20 and through them all over the parking lot (true story)

Government is another way to say better…than…you.
It’s like ice but no pick, a murder charge that won’t stick,
it’s like a whole other world where you can smell the food,
but you can’t touch the silverware.
Huh, what luck. Fascism you can vote for.
Humph, isn’t that sweet?

Gimlin, I feel your pain..BB is the same way. They aren't targeted at power users like us, they are targeted at newbies who don't know much about this stuff. I am only going in there once a year, the after-Thanksgiving sale, where I got my GeForce3.
What's worse that Best Buy does to their poor drones that walk in is they sell them the most advanced warranties and stuff and rip em off that way. By the time you pay the additional cost over an online store, the warranty, and installation fees, it's like twice the cost of the actual device

no big chain stores cater to people that have an idea what they are doing... same w/ all computer companies, which is why its better to build your own...

I have to admit though places like that do have good sales, for Vid cards and RAM, HDD etc. but I feel so bad for people who now nothing getting tricked into buying this CRAP:
HP 310N Celeron 1.1GHz Desktop Computer 979.99CND no montior
Or
HP 520N Celeron 1.3GHz Desktop Computer 1,199.97 CND no monitor.
Once I was buying a game, there were these two nice people going to buy a game for their son. Then walks buy the feck nut, who then proceeds to try to sell them Everquest + Expansions. After listening a bit I had to step in and say. "Yah it a good game, but its online only and costs 10 bucks a month". Let me tell yo the sales guy was not happy.

What's even worse, is the $1700 computers with TNT2 cards
That is so sad, and it makes me so sad when I see some family buying one, think of the look on that kid's face when he wants to play Unreal2 and can't figure out why it goes at 2 FPS, when it's a brand new $1700 computer

Same with an HP I worked on, a very old one, it had 2 32 meg sticks so when i installed a 128 meg stick it was 160 megs :\
OEMs tend to do that, I guess it saves money?
