Well that's just it. I'm trying to figure out what to do. What hasn't been done, and what would be a cool idea? Tell me whatca think!

a suggestion...
Hello there!!
I like the idea. In fact, I could provide a great back-end to this project. Here's what I suggest...
Visit my website, download the on-line demo and see if you're interested in the project we're currently developing.
It's an associative database model, based on MS SQL Server. The concept behind it, is Tim-Berners Lee's Semantic Web
http://www.sciam.com/2001/0501issue/...rners-lee.html
The demo shows one possible implementation of Microsoft's 'pubs' database and is currently in read-only mode.
I was thinking of using the same concept to develop something that would be based on information networks and allow web users to input, share and inter-relate pieces of information based on a specific subject.
mail me at [email protected] if you have any ideas...

I'm not exactly sure what you're talking about man. Care to explain a little more. What exactly does your app do?

about antology
it is a fixed generic SQL Server schema and a set of standardised XML interfaces for rapid database development.
Basically, all the developer needs to do is define a business model (a basic logical ER diagram) and use it to create a model of Types.
Unlike traditional relational db modelling, no Logical to Physical conversion is required. Instead of creating 'Tables' and foreign keys, everything is simplified to the following set of Types:
Object Types -> ie Person, Film, Book...
Property Types -> ie Date of Birth, Release Date, Address...
Classification Types -> ie Genre, Nationality...
Relationship Type -> ie Marriage, Film Director, Book Author...
This is so generic and can be used for any domain. Once this is set, the model (database) can be populated with data.
If requirements change at any point, all one needs to do is add more Types (or edit existing ones) to the system. Since no change in the schema is involved an application written on top of my system won't break (the XML structure for the interfaces is always the same)
The system also allows sophisticated searching like:
Show me all films directed by Woody Allen that were produced after 1990.
Or
What is the shortest path between the author of this academic paper and one of the people in my contacts' list
I was thinking of co-developing something that would allow people to navigate through information networks, create assosiation types (as you are able to relate any Object with any other Object for any reason) and in effect share the information with everybody.
any ideas?

forget SQL and databases.... the point ot the app is to hide all the nasty database design issues from the developer.
I only wanted to give you an idea of what the product is about.
If you are still interested in developing something on this concept please let me know
