    Connect to remote SQL Server (using IP)

    how would my connection string look if i would want to connect to some remote SQL server using IP address, do i have to open any ports on my firewall??

    The question isn't clear...

    from where and how ??

    Using VB ?
    From an ASP page ?
    From the SQL Server Client Program ?

    I think, the easiest way is to create a DSN to the remote SQL Server on the IIS system.
