    I notice that it was before 1989.

    I don't think people believed that sort of thing could happen then.

    Probably couldn't happen these days as we are more aware - but the change in attitudes has had some detrimental effects. For instance the Boy Scouts are dying out for lack of adult volunteers. People are just too scared they will be thought to be pervs. Probably a small price to pay though, it it keeps kids from harm.
