dimiva: Sorry, it's a dud (on my system)
    VB6 SP3

    Testers Beware...Program Locks Your System

#1 It does not work...object doesn't support this property
    or method Error: 438

#2 The backup disk doesn't work..it is only an autoexec
with a delete function but it can't work if it can't
be accessed and it would delete the wrong file it it
    did work.

#3 To get out of it put in your boot disk and boot up
without the cd Rom. This will get you to the A:\
Go to C:\ and delete the 2 files you extracted to C:\
Explorer.exe and Main Program.exe (will have short
version of name Main~1 or something like that.

PS...I would not have even tried it seeing as it jumps into
autoexec file if I didn't need a reason to format my
drive...I need to clean it up but I'm too lazy and if
I couldn't get out I would have had to do it..

I dont exactly know what you mean

if you want to know how my program works

just email me, and I'll explain how everything
    works

You got the wrong IDEA of the program

all that the AUTOEXEC does is change the contents of a .dat file that stores the password and username that you made up

Sorry.... I run your main program.exe and it ask for password and I made one then it says to make a boot which I did. Then I rebooted my pc to see what would happen and after booting windows my pc locks up. it doesn't allow windows to load. In your instructions you say that the boot disk made by your program will load windows. It will not and cannot. When I boot my system with your pgm I cannot get back to windows.....unless of course, I have a boot disk of my system (which I do and know how to use).

I am running a K7 chipset with 128Ram and Win98...maybe it will work on an Intel Chip...it doesn't work on mine.

    Re: <?>

The boot disk was designed if your forget your password

and if you just put it in, it will read it, then after it reads it, restart your computer again, then it will load windows normally

    OK..

    my misunderstanding then...
I apologize for misreading your file..
I assumed that if you forgot your password
it would kill the app so you wouldn't need
    the password to get by...

    Again...sorry for that misunderstanding...

has anyone else given it a shot to see what happens
on their system....did you try booting your system with
    your application running?

    Um, get it sorted

I tried your app and created a password and bootdisk etc, but when i load windows i get an error method 48 something like that and i cannot get into windows, luckily i managed to delete it from dos coz i had no boot disk, I thinks you should seriously fix this before handing it out.

    Re: Um, get it sorted

I'll look into the problem, can you please email me at [email protected] and tell me exactly what happened? thanks

and I'm not gonna send anymore files to people until the next beta version comes out (in about a month) then it should be working perfectly

and once again, thanks for bringing my attention to it

I get object doesn't support this property
or method Error: 438, so there you go, find out what external ocx or dll's your prog needs and then send them to your beta testers. Plus DEBUG YOUR APP,

you got error 438 right? do you have win 95?

and I forgot to give out one of the OCX's included in VB 6, the SSTAB thing, so if you were able to open the main program, then you have the OCX, so not to worry, if you dont I can easilly email it to you

I have wein 98 and i also have the sstab coz i use that quite often, so not sure where the problem lies there, i don't think it was error 438 but i think it was object doesn't support this property if that helps
