COBOL database - how to access it from VB
Hi everyone.
Don't be scared of COBOL.
I am working from VB with a database created in COBOL . Currently I use AcuODBC (version of ODBC) to access data through ADO. But it is terribly slow and does not allow me to use the power of SQL (it accepts only simplifyed SQL statements).
Is there any other method to access data from COBOL database?
Does anybody have any experience in this field?
Any suggestions, any information - welcome!
Thank you, guys.

Don't really know how to answer you question except to point you to the ODBC vendor for support on tuning, more recent releases and the like. Baring that, here is a web address that links you to a wealth of information about the accu driver, including the SQL syntax and design issues.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help!!!
Regards,
Brian

Thank you Brain.
I am using last release of AcuOdbc, but I will go to your link anyway.
Thanks again.
