    Linux display problem

    Sorry, I don't know where to ask this. But I thought C/C++ programmers here could have an idea about this.

    I have a display problem running KDE.
    Many KDE applications like Konqueror,KOffice etc... when resized show ugly bands in the toolbar. See the attached pic

    Strangely they don't show up when i run them from the root account. What went wrong ?

    It could be a problem with your configuration - are you sure that the global settings are correct (rather than it just using the root config)? Also, do you need permission access to the graphics card (bizarre concept I know)?
