I think the coolest program ever devised by any carbon based, highly evolved entity in the known universe, is one that I am half way though at the moment. I can't tell you what it does but its the hardest challenge I have yet faced and therefore I'm very proud of its progress so far.

Compared to anything on the list above it sucks, but I'm having massive fun writing it!

Actually, If I really think about it, I'd say that Elite II: Frontier (Atari 1040 STFM, 1993) is the best program/game I have ever spent any great amount of time using. I currently have about 9,000,000 credits, and a Panther Clipper Ship with a Large Plasma Accleerator on the front mounting!

Hardcore programming at its best, 3D spacial maps, 3D ships, AI the whole works, in a word HORNY

I don't like morpheus, I get faster downloads on KaZaA, just make sure you have a good virus scan

That is always the first prog I install after a reformat and reinstall windows. I don't know how I get along without it when I use other people's computers. It's just not right to have to use 10 billion different apps to view different file formats.

That program is an absolute bastard. Some idiot user installed it on their machine and it took over the file association for EVERYTHING!

It took me the best part of a day to re-associate everything because the arsehole uninstall doesn't think to do it

server? niether have a server, that is why they haven't been shut down yet (and i am aware of kazaa's $40000 per day fine. But thier fine is jack compared to what they make of the spyware embedded in there. At least taht is what i have come to understand

I use it all the time with no problem's. It seems to be faster than Morpheus and iMesh for me.

"Treasure Hunt"...

This game I got awhile back which offered $1,000,000 to the first person to solve it.
You basically just moved around a limited number of rooms (5 or so to begin with) attempting to solve some bizarre puzzle which you also have to decipher (that is, you don't even know what you're trying to solve) by working through some intensely cryptic and bizarre 'clues'.

My god, I have never seen such a piece of ****e.





It was actually probably quite clever, but it was way beyond me at the time... and immensely boring....

Have you ever tried WinMx. There you get fast downloads. KaZaA usually hangs around a max of 15k. With WinMx you get a lot of 50k or even higher!
But WinMx just has only music, videos and a very little collection of software, not the 'hard-to-find'-software.

btw, I really like Flash and ofcourse VB.

Transfer rates are fairly irrelevant to me because I'm limited to about 4K anyway
