    Question any API for AVI?

    hi guys
    do u know an api or api functions 4 playing AVI files?I checked it but i couldn't find it. but i think it as avi is the windows movie type,it must have some functions for playing it.

    Use this module. It plays MPEG movies, but you can use it to play AVI files too.

    I think VbWeb.co.uk has a good example but the site seems to be having problems at the moment

    yeah it is aloong time i'm missing vbweb. now i'm looking 4 the best movie file type 4 using it in a game. i guess avi is the best

    DIVX format is become popular for its small size... blizzard licensed DIVX technology for warcraft 3 animated scenes vs AVI and MPEG from warcraft 2 and starcraft

    ok. now how can i encode my mpegs to divx? how can i play them in my app. can u help or can u give me link 4 more info

    check out divx.com or divxmovies.com they have detailed info on the format... i have many editing/conversion utlitlies at home.. but i am at work right now.... if you have the divx codec installed (downloadable at divxmovies.com) on your PC then you can use the Microsoft Media Player control to play the movies... What you could do is include the codec file in your setup program and install it when you install your program... you need it to decode divx format... i image it would be simple though becuase it is just one file that it installs... get more info from those sites and let me know if you have any other questions...

    ok thanks alot
    but now i need sometime 4 download it and have some studies on these sites. it may take some time coz i'm passing my colleg final exams and don't have much time to do these. but i'll again bring up my q's if there where any.
