Erratic Sendkeys behaviour

VB6 app using sendkeys to post data into an oracle forms window. Behaves perfectly on some PCs , erratically on others. No particular pattern of failure , just randomly drops chars and gets tied in knots.

I've heard that DLL interactions can cause this?
also that a 'native compile?' may cure the problem. Any thoughts welcome.

I'm sure that someone here has said before that SendKeys should be avoided like the plague, due to it's 'undocumented features'...
