    New to Assembly

    I'm new to Assembly.
    Can anyone tell me how to compile the source code?
    What should the extension of source code should be?
    Do you have to manually create link, object, and list file?

    I learned C/C++/Visual Basic and Java before(beginner to intermediate)...but after reading the source code for Assembly, I'm totally lost.
    Please also tell me any link to tutorial.
