I was just thinking, wouldn't it be cool
if there were Senior Members?? something like
300+ posts??
By the way: Since I'm already posting, I might as well just add to it. Does anyone
know the basics of developing your own
Operating System? If you know any sites that
have that kind of information, can you please
E-mail me???

300+ posts is not enough for being a senior member, it should be like 1000+ (been there)! Besides from what it should be, first it should exist...

I don't agree on a senior membership based purely on the number of posts, as this could encourage meaningless replies for just the sake of becoming a senior.
I would suggest instead that administrators organize a contest or a votation, say one a month to elect the "Senior Member of the Month" in a democratic way.
Some one else agree?

good for you. Here's some advice, though...the best way to get them is to post useful/real questions and answers, not by digging up threads that haven't been touched in 2 years

Back to the topc...
What about a questions and answers comparasions?
To truely evaluate, woudn't it be more relative to the number of post answered, than the questions posted by the user? That would truely be the judge...
Remaining quiet down here !!!

Actually, if it gets done that way, it would probably be better to count correct or accurate answers, rather than just any questions. In order to do that, you'd need to have people rating others...

...and that gets a bit silly considering most of the higher posters (like Megatron, Kedaman, Matt Gates, HeSaidJoe, Mark Sreeves, and a whole lot of others) have already been "unofficially" rated, in a way.
Don't know what brand, it's generic

Well for starters, you're posting this in the wrong section. It should be in the C++ forum, but since there was no C++ forum back then, I guess you couldn't. Developing an operating system is a lot of work, and it's not a good idea to try to do it yourself. You'll need a team of experienced C programmers (notice I said C, because VB doesn't have the capability of doing this). You also might want to try to learn some ASM, because it will come in handy when building a kernel.
