    Design flaw!

abdul, 'blade, me and others have noticed that newbies often hit New Thread instead of Post Reply. Do the two have to be right next to each other like that, or can one be made distinctly different? Conversations tend to go like this:

Newbie: Thanks, but I have this problem
Elder: What are you talking about
Another Elder: He must have hit New Thread by mistake.

    Maybe so but...

    1. Most people use the New Thread button at the top of the forum page to start a new thread, it seems more logical there.
    2. It often results in, obviously, those interesting little threads.

I've obviously gotten a reputation for nitpicking in FF but many others have seen this problem too...

    Haaaaaa
If u wanted to be really organised you would have the Reply button as a huge half screen button with a flashing green and purple background and dancing girls scrolling across it.

The New Thread button should be behind a locked door where the user has to provide a password, dance a jig and recite the first 20 places of Pi.

I hope these ideas help in your endeavours to make this place a far more pleasant experience.

If "newbies" commit the henious crime of starting a new thread, then I'm sure we can all accept it and kindly point out the problem. In the greater scheme of things, I'm sure John and James will put it right below "cure cancer" and "stop war" on their to do list.

Hmmm, so i should cancel the chartered jets, sell the supply of weapons and get the post office to return the bereavement letters sent to the newbie's families??? Dang dang dang. well.......
Although reluctant, i suppose i can do that but i will not give up my stunning red cape and knee high boots.

I have a cunning plan: simply charge £50 for every new thread. Every user has to give credit card details; this would also have ths side effect of removing children, brilliant!

It would soon teach the buggers a lesson if the have to shell out 50 quid every time
