Hi EveryOne!
I'm dropping to air my views on the site.I've hesistated to write this, giving the site time to deal with it's growing pains. Well, it's not like the old days around here anymore. I've had three post that haven't registered on the forum correctly, and found numerous misplaced posts in the past month. I dearly miss being able to search specific forums with the user-name and subject criterion. Searches now return posts from all forums. When I search on just my user-name I get posts with other similiar user-names. The sight has become more of an entertainment center than a learning experience and this has corupted alot of my searches. John, you've done a great job with this site but it appears to be moving in a different direction than it used to. I can understand your desire to make this site popular and after all it is a commercial venture, right? But I can't help airing my views as to my want and need to be conected to a simpler sight such as before.
As for my addicted member status: I do not practice any "addictive" behavior (akcept for bad spelling sometimes). I do resent this title. I have a life outside of programming, but do visit as it is my duty to myself and employer to try to gain as much knowledge as possible. Is there anyway I could go back to being a senior member?

You can still search well. Make sure the Match Exact option box is selected and then enter the name of the user you wish to search.

Hi Joey,
Thanks for the message - VB-World has been evolving at a huge rate, both in terms of the main content half of the site and these community forums. While you are correct to assume that VB-World is a commercial venture, we have never lost touch of our main mission... to provide quality information about Visual Basic development.
I asked John to take a look at the search issues you have described, and he can't find any of the problems you have been experiencing. It would be great if you can email John at [email protected] with specific urls of non-sensical search results.
BTW: You can limit searching to a particular forum by picking a forum from the combo box under "search options" in the main search form.
Lastly, the "Addictive Member" title is no representation on you personally It merely indicates how many posts you have made to the Q and A. For a complete list of all the available titles, please check out the FAQ link above.
All the best,
James
