Funny enough: Issuer shows IP as 1.1.1.1

Re: Important news for twinBASIC
No such problem accessing the site here in any browser, plus we have checked on multiple HTTPS/SSL checker sites with no problems reported.

FWIW, ChatGPT says:
The “Issuer shows IP as 1.1.1.1” part suggests Firefox may not be seeing the actual twinbasic.com certificate, but possibly a Cloudflare/1.1.1.1, DNS, proxy, antivirus HTTPS scanning, or local network/captive portal certificate instead.

They work OK for me using Firefox.

Re: Important news for twinBASIC
Here is a full copy of the investment announcement:
TWINBASIC LTD Secures Strategic Investment to Advance the Future of BASIC
Article date: 7th July 2026
TWINBASIC LTD today announced the successful completion of its first external investment round, securing strategic funding to accelerate development of the twinBASIC platform, expand the engineering team, and support the company's long-term vision.
For more than sixty years, BASIC and its descendants have introduced generations of people to programming while powering countless business applications. twinBASIC exists to honour that heritage by combining a strong commitment to backwards compatibility with the tools and capabilities expected of a modern development platform.
The round is led by RepSoft, LLC, alongside a group of experienced software industry investors united by a shared goal: supporting twinBASIC's growth and helping modernise the classic BASIC development ecosystem.
Since entering public preview, twinBASIC has attracted a global community of developers seeking to preserve and extend existing VB6 and VBA applications while embracing modern language features and development capabilities. The new funding will support continued investment in core compiler technology, tooling, platform reach, and the project's long-term sustainability.
The investment marks an important milestone in the evolution of twinBASIC, supporting its transition from an independent founder-led project into a dedicated software company focused on the platform's long-term development and success. The funding will help ensure that twinBASIC remains an actively developed and commercially sustainable platform for decades to come.
No changes are planned to twinBASIC's existing subscription model or its community-focused approach as a result of the investment. The company's commitment remains firmly centred on delivering long-term value for its users and customers.
Wayne Phillips, Founder of TWINBASIC LTD, said:
"When I started twinBASIC, the goal was simple: build the modern successor that VB6 and VBA developers had been waiting for. The community support over the past few years has been incredible, and this investment lets us accelerate that vision while staying true to what made twinBASIC special in the first place.
I'm delighted to welcome Jim and the other investors aboard. They've backed not just the technology, but the community and the long-term future of the platform. There's a huge amount of work ahead, and I'm incredibly excited about what we can achieve together.
This isn't the finish line—it's the starting line. We're building a company around twinBASIC for the long term, and we're looking forward to delivering even more for our users and customers in the years ahead. And finally, I'd like to thank the entire twinBASIC community. Many of you have supported the project since the earliest previews through subscriptions, testing, bug reports, feedback, documentation, and encouragement. This milestone simply wouldn't have been possible without you, and we're excited to continue building the future of twinBASIC together."
Jim Adam (RepSoft, LLC), Lead Investor, said:
"From the first time I saw twinBASIC, I recognised both the technical achievement and the opportunity it represents. A substantial global community of developers and businesses still depends on Visual Basic technologies, and twinBASIC offers them a credible, exciting path forward."
Wayne and the community have built something genuinely special. Our role is to provide support, experience, and resources to help the company realise its full potential, and we're proud to be part of that journey."
Development of twinBASIC will continue under Wayne Phillips' leadership, with the investment strengthening the platform's roadmap while preserving the project's long-term commitment to its users and community.
The company's vision remains to provide developers with a modern, commercially sustainable platform for preserving and extending their existing software investments while enabling the development of entirely new applications for years to come.

Re: Important news for twinBASIC
And here is the second announcement:
TWINBASIC LTD Welcomes Jon Johnson (fafalone) as Software Development Consultant
Article date: 8th July 2026
twinBASIC Ltd is pleased to announce that Jon Johnson, better known to many in the twinBASIC community as fafalone, has begun working with the company as a software development consultant.
Jon has been an active member of the twinBASIC community for many years, contributing numerous open-source projects, helping shape documentation, and providing technical support to developers through the community's Discord server and other discussion groups. His deep understanding of the platform and commitment to helping others have made him one of the community's most recognised contributors.
In his consultancy role, Jon will contribute directly to the ongoing development of the twinBASIC platform, helping accelerate delivery of new features and improvements as the project continues its journey towards and beyond version 1.0.
Wayne Phillips, Founder of TWINBASIC LTD, said:
"Jon has been one of twinBASIC's most passionate supporters and contributors for years. He's consistently demonstrated both exceptional technical ability and a genuine desire to help the community succeed. Having someone with his knowledge now contributing directly to the platform is a fantastic step forward, and I'm delighted to be working with him."
Jon Johnson (fafalone), said:
"From the first time I tried twinBASIC, I was convinced it was the true successor to the legacy of VB6 and VBA. It brought a seemingly endless list of all the language features and modernisations VB programmers had been wishing for, from a developer who was highly engaged with and responsive to the great community that had formed around this new venture.
Since then, I've been highly active in the community, writing numerous open-source projects, contributing to documentation, and helping out in the Discord channel and other twinBASIC groups. I'm now extremely excited to officially begin working with twinBASIC Ltd as a consultant. Wayne has offered me the opportunity to contribute directly to twinBASIC itself, and I'm looking forward to playing a small part in making it the success I've always believed it can be."
Jon's appointment represents another important milestone in twinBASIC's continued growth following the company's recent strategic investment. As development continues to accelerate, expanding the pool of experienced contributors will help bring new capabilities to the platform while maintaining the close collaboration with the developer community that has been central to twinBASIC's success.
