Yeah, I could do that, but it grates on me. My taxes have generally been pretty simple, aside from some capital gains, but that's straightforward enough. Without that, I could probably use the EZ form. I'll end up paying a few hundred, which is about right. Paying $40 on top of that is what grates. I can do math. I even get it right most of the time.

I'm not home and a few inches of snow fell. That will not be great for skiing by the time I get home.

It's not so much about doing math. It's about knowing I'm doing it right without having to spend a bunch of time reviewing the tax code. Tax rules change all the time. Plus it's like a knew toy to play with. I'll probably do a couple of other peoples taxes also.
Remember, money is worthless unless you spend it. You can't take it with you. Especially not where I'm going, it'll burn.

Why are TV remotes so bizarre? There are dozens of buttons, of which only three or four are ever useful. Why can't we have a simpler remote?

Perhaps they can't be simplified. Perhaps there is a reason they are so complex, but there is a remote chance of simplification.

On the other hand, I do understand the point that "American woman shows up in a small town and meets a complicated, handsome, man" is the beginning of either Hallmark or True Crime shows.

The south is getting some cold weather for a change. A friend of mine just bought a house in Fl last summer (not far from Orlando). This isn't what he envisioned.
An interesting area where he bought. A place called the Villages. It's all senior living, over 150K people. Supposably the largest in the world. They have their own restaurants and bars. Live bands and dancing nightly. People own carts, 200+ miles of cart paths.

It has snowed in Miami, and frosts have gotten into the Keys. Orlando is quite a bit further north. Cold snaps are uncommon, but not rare. It keeps some of the invasive fish away.
It's a damp cold, too.

Yeah, it dropped into the 20s here last night. It wouldn’t be so bad if it weren’t for the wind and humidity. Last year we ever got record snow that I’ve never experienced, despite traveling to all sorts of cold areas. I was glad my children got to experience it though.

A typical winter, it will drop to freezing or near freezing for a day or two for a couple of weeks, but this is the first time in my memory where it’s dropped below freezing for several consecutive multiple weeks, two years in a row.

Re: Post Race!
Too many commas in that last sentence. I’ve been learning French and the guy who teaches me focuses heavily on grammar, which I was abysmal at in school, which has a side effect of me critiquing my own native tongue more than I have in the past.

High pressure is dominating the west, which is keeping it dry and relatively warm. Not very warm, but well above freezing every day. Good for travel.

It's the opposite here. We're not a desert but close.
Finally starting to see some sunny days. Might make the mid 60's today.

In Florida, you had to keep chips sealed or else you'd be able to fold them after a day. In Idaho, you have to keep things sealed or else they'll dry to dust. Chips are okay, since they are kind of sintered dust to begin with, but bread gets stale super fast.

Didn't know about those things. I actually don't know much at all about her, except she's 24yrs younger than Trump.
Glad she had some fun before she got married.

Hope today is better than yesterday. I screwed up my car but luckily after a fair amount of work I was able to get it home. Later my son was able to fix the problem.
But today is sunny and is suppose to reach 71. Life is good.
