    Hi
    I have a Little Problem

    I currently busy working on a program For a printer company . When the printer comes in for repaires the you have to prepaire a jobcard. Now i have a couple of questions .

    1. When issueing the jobcard it add a new record to the database.What i would like to know is how would you dispay the new jobcard no before updating the record.

    2 . Using ADodc control how would you access a database(with pass) and putting a password on the databse without other people messing with your database

    Well ...

    For the first question, you can use an autonumber field. Then when you need to display the new jobcard's number, you add a new record, but don't update it, and show its number.

    Or you could write code to extract the max value of jobcardnumber from the database, add 1 to it and display it.
