Maybe touchpads aren't evil after all...

One of my first laptops was an IBM thinkpad, complete with trackpoint cursor device. I never thought I'd get used to touchpads...but my new VAIO has a touchpad, and it's not to bad. It has a driver that sets up "scroll" zones on the bottom and right edges, and it has a web browser "foreward and back" zone at the top of the pad. I find myself actually "liking" my touchpad. I'm even using my keyboard shortcuts less often.

Still can't beat a good ol' optical mouse.

Nothing can beat a keyboard. I've always hated all pointing devices...but optical mice and my new VAIO laptop touchpad go a long way to changing my opinion...

Try moving icons on your desktop without a mouse

Try using a Mac without a mouse. That is a living hell. It took me 5 minutes to figure out that Return renames a file, but <Command>-<O> opens it. So much for intuitiveness.
