A new hardware question (Celeron vs Duron)
I am building a very low cost system for my linux machine and I have been wondering, for a budget system which is better? Duron or Celeron.

If you're not playing games or working at high resolution, go for whichever is cheaper. But beware, AMD chips and Intel chips cannot be compared by the megahertz.

I think the Duron will be cheaper...... I can get a 1.4ghz TBird 266 FSB for $120... a Duron 850 can't be more than like $80

See http://www.tech-report.com/reviews/2...z/index.x?pg=1 for a nice review of the Fastest Duron against the fastest Celery. I don't think I need say more!
