Not sure about AIM but YM allows simultaneous browser based
messaging and through the software client.
Once I talked to myself with the same screen name on either ends.

Yahoo lets you do that on different machines. One of me mates was chatting on one Pc, i was in another room logged in under his username. I sent stuff to random people, and he got their replies, which mainly consisted of "Who/what the f**k are you?" and other cool stuff. Also sent random crap to the people he was chatting to which of course was completely unrelated to what he was saying...
Hours of fun!!

mICQ allows you to do that. you can download it from www.download.com
it allows you to make "clones" of AIM or ICQ, so you can be on as many s/ns as u want...upto 80 thousand something clones are allowed
