    Guesswork

    At work, I am working with a Java program that, when combined with other running processes, takes upi 400 MB of RAM. Guess how many threads are running.

    If you have 30,000 threads then something's REALLY gone wrong. That many will stress the scheduler so much that I'd be surprised if ANYTHING worked. The thread swapover time would take longer than each individual timeslice.

    well, look at mine, it sits at 150Mb, I closed most programs and all i had open were outlook2000, 1 IE session, and VB6. none were processing anything either


    and just a note, win2kpro saves JPGs in PAINT!!!

    No, 30,000 is actually good. I'm simulating a NASA satellite ground system, a server, and a client ALL on my computer at work. That's a lot of stuff.
