    A question about Win2000

Are there settings I can tweak to get maximum optimization for multi-tasking? Yes I know the OS is for a single program(server-type) appilcation to run, but I love the stability of win2k and I'd like to be able to use it without my mp3 player slowing down while I program, chat, etc.

    Thanks,

    More, more, more, more memory.

A little trick: if one particular program seems to be slowing down (like Winamp studdering when you're doing something else), press Ctrl-Alt-Del, click "Task Manager", the Processes tab, and in the Image column, right-click the process (like WINAMP.EXE), go to Set Priority, and make it High. (Ignore the stupid warning .) BTW, NEVER set anything to realtime, because you are bound to lock up your system.

How much memory do you have now? I have 512.

I have winamp set to High in it's own preferences, the MPEG decoded at real time, the waveout at time critical, and it still don't work right, and if I play avs, good lordy it slows down....

I should probably be editing me prior posts but oh well, my entire system performance won't slow down, just the music.

    Weird! Eh?
