Office 2003 - Can't highlight text in Outlook

I have no options in Outlook to highlight text. I do have these options in Word. What I've been doing, which is a pain, is copy a block of text to Word, highlight it, then copy it to Outlook. But, isn't it the same editor that's available to both so why don't I just have it in Outlook? What I do have is font name, size, color but no highlight. I've tried Tools->Customize->Format but it's not there. My text choices are plain and rich (if that's relevant; HTML is not a choice).

    Thanks.

As this isn't something specific to developers.... Thread moved from the 'General Developer' forum to the 'General PC' forum.

Rich text does not support the same things as Word documents, so it isn't too surprising that you don't seem have the ability to do what you want. It expect it would be possible if you set your email to use HTML, but I don't know how you would do that.

I see. Thank you. I just thought it was all integrated, all being Office products. And it's not like it's not supported because I can do it in Word and then copy it over and it "stays". I guess I'll just be happy I can do that.
