Unhappy Trying to install Linux on a dual boot Windows 2000 machine

I've been using Lilo installed in the MBR to dual boot Windows 2000 and Linux but having moved over to a Windows 2000 + Window 98 boot (to cover hardware where there are no W2K drivers) I can't get the system to boot from the DVD drive to install SuSE Linux (7.1) on the third partion even if I set the boot order correctly in the BIOS. Any ideas how I can get Linux onto the spare partion space?
