How do I do that? I need to get an event when say another app adds an icon or removes it, or even if it changes its icon- it would notify my app. And of course, I don't want to use timers

To throw away OOP for low level languages is myopia, to keep OOP is hyperopia. To throw away OOP for a high level language is insight.
