Mono for android.Anyone used it?

Hi.I want to write an android app and i was considering that option.But here is the problem.The application will basically open a webbrowser class and manipulate it.Now i am not sure on what exactly the mono will pull out.I mean if it deploys to .net COM then ok but if it simulates the classes then is it possible that i will pull out an android based browser?Thanks.

I've an extensive .Net background so I initially used Mono to make rapid progress in Android development. I must say it worked and it took me 2 days to go from total ignorance about Android to creating my first simple but functional application. After that, I tried out the Java/Eclipse combination. I have experience with both Java and Eclipse and with them I created a sound recording application in a few days.

My feedback is to forget about Mono for Android unless you have a large body of C# code that you absolutely cannot convert to Java. Mono does increase the size of your application and it does incur a small performance penalty. But most importantly, Android development is heavily geared towards Java/Eclipse. Go with the flow to get the most benefits.

Love hearing feedback to mono as I am debating on buying it right now.. I think it will increase the size around 14 mb I think but it wont need .netframework to run it if im correct? but also can port to ios so is it still unworthy? I wanted to get it just so i didnt have to mess with more than vis studio and mono to port to 3 stores
